Is Oprah's popularity suffering?
Oprah's latest television venture, Oprah's Big Give, has suffered the rejection of cancellation. The show started out hot, but viewership declined rapidly. Just after one season, the show was canceled.
Oprah Magazine has even fallen 10% in the last three years, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
Some are speculating that her slip in popularity is due to her avid endorsement for political candidate Barack Obama due to the fact that she may be losing the white middle aged women who may be supporting Senator Hillary Clinton.
Others believe it was the bad press due to the scandal that occurred with Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls. Oprah's School had received bad publicity due to a dorm matron abusing the girls. A trial is scheduled to begin in July due to the scandal at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls. Oprah has since worked hard at getting the school back on track, even flying round trip to Africa twice in one month to improve the conditions at her namesake school. However, there are those who are first to criticize Oprah and her ventures. Some state that she does not have any educational experience to run an institution, like Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls.
