The Trial Against Former Oprah's School Matron Postponed |

The trial against a former matron at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls has been postponed until October. On October 22, 24, and 28 the trail will recoven to allow the other 5 victims to testify; one has already testified.
In case you haven't heard, Tiny Makopo, a former dormitory matron of Oprah's school was accused indecent assault, common assault, soliciting a minor to perform an indecent act and verbal abuse. The accusers, aged 13 and 14 as well as a fellow matron, says she kissed them with an open mouth, touched their breasts, forced them to touch her breasts, creept into their beds and told them to be lesbians. Tiny Makopo has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges raised against her.
She has said that opening her $40 million dollar academy was the proudest moment of her life and nine months later, she says the abuse against the girls is one of the most devastating experiences of her life. Oprah Winfrey herself has admitted to sexual abuse in her past; she was raped a cousin at age nine then abused by three family friends in years to come. |
