Oprah may be one of the most well known women throughout the world because of her philanthropic practices and of course her extremely popular show. Her show has been a jump off point for many great projects including the Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Oprah's School gives an amazing opportunity to young girls in South Africa that would have otherwise not had such an opportunity. In this short CNN video clip, you will see what Oprah had to say about the feelings that she had after opening her academy for girls in South Africa. What else have you heard about Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls? This school is just one example of the many selfless acts that Oprah has taken part in throughout her long, successful career. Would you consider Oprah's school the top philanthropic act that she has ever done? I tip my hat to all of the great things that Oprah has accomplished as of yet.
I am trying to find out how to 'oominate' a girl for Oprah's school in S. Africa ~ I have a friend in Uganda who is bright and has lost her father to AIDS. She would LOVE to attend Oprah's school and I have promised her I would try to find out if there is a way to have her considered for her school. She is very dedicated to her Education and would be a great addition to Oprah's school. If someone knows how to do this...... please let me know.
I am a 30 yrs old single parent of 4, first born is 10years old and a set of triplets aged 1year 10 months.
I live in Sekhukhune village, Limpopo
I would like to know how I can enroll my daughter in Oprahs School
I have a 23 year old daughter working in Africa with the Peace Coprs.
She is stationed in The Gambia. She is an intelligent and caring person. She would love to apply to work at Oprah's Academy. Her love for children, other cultures and working to make a difference are embedded in her. She teaches children daily and then works with the children of her host family every night. She realizes and knows the empowerment of women would be the most beneficial thing to their culture and quality of life. Is there anyway she could apply to work at the academy?
