Oprah's Leadership Academy for Girls was rocked to its very 40,000,0000 dollar foundation when claims of Abuse and Child Molestation has been lodged against who among other things, was alledged that she grabbed a girl by the throat and fondling at least one other in separate incidents. Oprahs has said that the school has launched their own investigation and of course Oprah detractor's will likely criticize the school behavior. Source Rapport Newspaper. "Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the academy," Winfrey said in a statement.
Oprah hasn't yet discussed the alleged incidents on her chat show. Winfrey was alerted that a female school staffer allegedly grabbed a student by the throat and threw her against the wall and that the same "dorm matron" screamed at and assaulted her wards.
Winfrey has hired a U.S. team of private investigators, led by a 30-year investigator of child exploitation at Chicago's Cook County Sheriff's Office, to work with South African police, her spokeswoman said. She opened the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for girls in the town of Henley-on-Klip earlier this year. On a visit to the school in August, she told parents, "I want you to know that these are our daughters. I want you to trust me with them."
