I don't watch much daytime TV but the Oprah Winfrey Show is generally worth watching. Have you seen what's on daytime TV these days? It used to be that you could watch Phil Donahue or soap operas or game shows. With all the channels available today, you would think that we would have a better selection. Instead, we have reruns of shows from the 50's and 60's, soap operas, old westerns, game shows, court tv and a selection of TV talk shows, including the Oprah Winfrey Show.
It seems everyone these days wants a piece of the TV talk show pie - Tyra Banks, Regis & Kelly, Montel Williams and Ellen DeGeneres just to name a few -- and that's not including the ones who have already gone off the air.
While Regis & Kelly are certainly entertaining, none of these others can compare with the Queen. Remember when Dr. Phil was a regular guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Nobody but Oprah could have launched his career that way. And, of course, the Oprah Book Club has helped the career or more than one writer.
Oprah Winfrey and the Oprah Winfrey Show are institutions. She's not going away anytime soon!
