Jennifer Clawson-Trubenbach recently spent 5 days in total comfort at the Miraval Resort in Tucson, AZ. with all expenses paid by Oprah Winfrey.
Clawson-Trubenbach was one of sixty women chosen from sixty-thousand applicants in a contest with "O, The Oprah Magazine" to spend the week at the resort and meet Oprah.
"This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience," Clawson-Trubenbach said of the week with Oprah. "I've been with Operation of Hope for 20 years, and I think I was chosen for that more than anything. Some of the other women had overcome horrific tragedies in their lives, and this was a way of honoring those women."
In an effort to thank Oprah, Clawson-Trubenbach offered to set up a pen-pals effort with girls who attend Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
"She was touched," Clawson-Trubenbach said, though Oprah said complex security issues, at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls, might interfere with the pen pal effort. "If it doesn't work out because of security, we'll arrange it with a different school."
