I was so happy and proud to be an American when Oprah Winfrey opened her academy for girls. A few years ago she did a piece on a trip to Africa where she went a studied the plight of the continent. Oprah Winfrey decided to do something about it, something real and worthwhile. Considering our stand in the world community these days, I was again proud to be an American and stand for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness once again. I love that we are about human rights and Oprah was showing the world what is good about America.

With the breaking news of the problems with Oprah's school, I was first very sad. I was sad for the girl who was possibly abused, I was said for the other students who lost their confidence in the safety of the school, but I was also deeply sad for Oprah Winfrey who's vision was a light at the end of a dark tunnel for these girls and someone very selfish dimmed it.

I just want to take this moment to say that Oprah Winfrey has made me again proud of America. She has handled this truthfully, quickly, and in a dignified manner. The world wept with her and wishes her and her school well once more.
