A-CET School in EthiopiaOprah's school in South Africa is an incredible achievement and recognizes two important things. One is that there can never be any escape from cyclic grinding poverty without education and two that every African is desperate to learn. At A-CET we may be unable to mobilize those financial resources of Oprah, but in our modest way, supported by private donors, we are helping to build community rural elementary day schools in Northern Ethiopia. For US$ 100,000 we build eight grade schools for 800 children, bringing better education closer to those previously denied access. Ethiopian Manager Bisrat says meeting Oprah "was my inspiration to help bring education to my country's vulnerable children". Image shows Aderak School opened in 2006.
